Job summary

Centre College in Danville, Kentucky is seeking a Public Safety Officer who will enforce campus rules, conduct fire and safety inspections, and respond to calls for assistance. This full-time, hybrid-position covers evening and night shifts and requires a high school diploma (Some college preferred), valid driver’s license, and a willingness to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college courses preferred.
• Related work experience in safety and security.
• Training in intercultural competency preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all College rules and regulations and applicable laws.
• Ensure building security and periodic building checks.
• Conduct fire and safety inspections on campus.
• Investigate incidents, injuries and non-injury motor vehicle accidents.
• Patrol campus on foot and by vehicle (bikes, cars, golf carts).
• Conduct fire drills in residence halls each semester.
• Respond to calls for assistance including unlocks and after-hours requests.
• Maintain campus fire extinguisher program.
• Coordinate with Danville Police Department regarding campus crimes.
• Enforce parking and traffic regulations.
• Support department equipment maintenance and special events.
• Foster a diverse and inclusive campus environment.
