Job summary

Thomas More University in Crestview Hills, KY is seeking dedicated part-time Public Safety Officers to provide visible patrols, respond to emergencies, assist community members, and help create an environment where learning, faith, and service can flourish. Officers perform vehicle, golf cart, and foot patrols, administer basic first aid, maintain daily logs, and support campus functions while upholding university policies with tact.

Shifts are flexible to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related field education welcome.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills under pressure.
• Knowledge of campus safety procedures, fire/life safety, access control.
• Strong written and verbal reporting skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls, unlock buildings, provide escorts and respond to emergencies.
• Patrol campus by vehicle, golf cart, or on foot to ensure safety.
• Identify maintenance concerns and report hazards to staff.
• Provide security at university functions and athletic events as needed.
• Administer basic first aid, CPR, and AED and coordinate with responders.
• Assist students in crisis with campus staff and external resources.
• Respond to alarms and ensure proper action is taken.
• Maintain daily logs and incident reports in a timely manner.
• Promote responsibility for campus safety and enforce policies with tact.
• Work shifts to ensure 24/7 safety coverage.
