Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; NC Basic Law Enforcement training enrollment or completion.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws, local ordinances, and police policies.

Responsibilities

• Patrol school campus in various modes; interact with students, parents, faculty, and administrators.
• Respond to calls for assistance, disturbances, and safety concerns; communicate with school officials and department staff.
• Investigate traffic incidents on campus; issue citations; direct traffic and assist in emergencies.
• Conduct investigations; interview witnesses; gather evidence; make arrests as needed.
• Advise the public on laws; testify in court; execute warrants; serve papers as required.
• Coordinate security at school events; operate a two-way radio; report to headquarters.
