Job summary

Nelson County Schools District Wide in Bardstown, KY seeks a School Resource Officer (CLAS). The role reports to the Director of Operations and Environmental Safety and is classified with 186 days plus up to 4 extended days.

The officer will enforce laws, coordinate safety with district leaders, and engage students to foster a safe, caring learning environment. Requires law enforcement experience and a KY driver's license.

Qualifications

• Law enforcement experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in relevant field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Valid Kentucky Driver's License; POPS Certified.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Federal, State and Local laws and ordinances on school property.
• Assist officials with policies and regs regarding school safety.
• Communicate with community, staff, parents and students to coordinate safety actions.
• Act as liaison to school and district leadership during investigations.
• Prepare accurate reports of crimes and incidents.
