Job summary

Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH is seeking a Patrol Person to join the Safety and Security team. Under supervision, the Officer ensures the safety of employees, students, and visitors and protects college property, with a typical schedule of 4-10 hour days and 40 hours per week.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalency, a valid driver’s license, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Onsite work and a background check are standard; CPR/First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in the field of security, or the equivalent.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be qualified under the terms of the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy.
• Good written, verbal, and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate with a diverse community.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to make decisions within the confines of standard operating procedures

Responsibilities

• Answer complaints and document investigations.
• Patrol parking lots and check for theft or damage.
• Identify individuals when necessary.
• Follow Emergency Procedure Protocol Book during serious cases.
• Supervise student and part-time employees on security shift.
• Maintain security logs and confidential information per policy.
• Assist in maintaining cruiser and transport responsibilities.
