Job summary

Sierra College is seeking a Community Safety Officer to safeguard the campus community through patrols, incident response, and support for students and staff. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, equity-minded practices in enforcing safety policies and district regulations.

Shifts are Saturday and Sunday 10:00am - 6:00pm. The candidate will work under the District’s safety and parking operations, supporting access control, emergencies, and campus events while collaborating with Human Resources

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of general safety or security experience, preferably with public contact.
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade or GED (or higher).
• CPR/First Aid training and appropriate security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ambassador for the department and handle inquiries and escorts.
• Prepare and maintain incident reports and logs.
• Respond to campus emergencies as First Responder and coordinate safety actions.
• Patrol campus facilities to ensure safety and security and report hazards.
