Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a part-time Public Safety Officer to patrol the campus, respond to emergencies, and provide Safe Walk escorts.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks and medical examinations. Responsibilities include patrolling on foot and by vehicle, answering calls, assisting visitors, and preparing detailed incident reports.

Qualifications

• Proven written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to pass background check and medical/psychological examination
• Ability to follow instructions and work with others

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus to deter crime and ensure safety
• Answer calls using radio/telephone
• Provide shuttle transportation and log passengers
• Regulate campus traffic and enforce parking regulations
• Respond to emergencies and summon EMS or police when needed
• Inspect buildings and report hazards
• Provide Safe Walk escorts to community and visitors
• Prepare concise incident reports following procedures
