Job summary

Phillips Exeter Academy is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to provide safety services for students, faculty, staff, and guests and to secure Academy property. This full-time, essential position reports to the Safety Operations Manager and requires 24/7 coverage, including holidays, with a Wednesday–Sunday 4:00pm–12:00am schedule.

The responsibilities include emergency response, patrols, incident reporting, call handling on a multi-line system, and coordination with Exeter police, fire, and EMS.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Law enforcement/First responder experience preferred.
• Customer service experience desirable.
• Experience in an institutional or campus setting preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required. CPR/AED and First Aid within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety services to the campus community and secure Academy property.
• Respond to emergency calls and dispatch personnel and local responders.
• Answer calls on multi-line switchboard and transfer to appropriate offices.
• Notify Academy leadership during major incidents via emergency systems.
• Conduct vigilant patrols and inspect campus facilities for hazards.
• Investigate incidents and complete reports, verbally and in writing.
