Job summary

Western Technical College in La Crosse, WI seeks a part-time Campus Safety Officer to support a community-oriented safety model, help prevent violence and theft, provide access to facilities, and respond to incidents with high customer service and integrity.

The position is non-sworn, cannot carry firearms or make arrests, may include overnights and weekends, and can work up to 20 hours per week with on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 18 years old at time of hire.
• Valid Driver's License at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
• Mentor student Campus Safety officers and provide training on building-level patrol procedures
• Patrol campus facilities and parking lots and parking enforcement
• Provide customer service to students, staff, and the public at Western Campus Locations
• Immediately report any serious incident to the proper authority and provide incident assistance as directed
• Check for maintenance problems and safety/security concerns while completing patrols
• Complete duty reports, incident reports, and injury reports as needed
