Job summary

Moraine Valley Community College is seeking a Community Service Officer (Part-time) to protect campus property and assist staff, students, and visitors across multiple sites. The role includes patrols, security checks, and emergency assistance as part of the Police Department.

The position requires prior related experience or training, a valid driver’s license, and LEADS certification. Shift rotates, with 24 hours weekly and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Minimum three months related experience and/or training with at least 30 hours of college credit, or one year related experience with training.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to complete LEADS certification.

Responsibilities

• Patrol buildings and grounds by motorized or foot patrol to deter and report crime and provide service to staff, students, and visitors.
• Inspect doors, windows, and gates to ensure security and proper operation.
• Monitor for fire hazards, leaks, and security breaches and report irregularities.
• Assist with security during evacuations and emergencies as assigned.
• Perform desk relief and maintain desk competency with current LEADS certification.
