Job summary

Chippewa Valley Technical College is seeking a Public Safety Resource & Engagement Officer to promote safety across CVTC campuses in Eau Claire and surrounding regions. The role involves proactive patrols, customer service excellence, parking enforcement, and collaboration with law enforcement and fire/EMS partners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public safety regulations and campus policies.
• Ability to assess crises quickly and respond effectively.
• Knowledge of radio comms and APCO 10 codes.
• Proficiency in de-escalation and conflict resolution.
• Strong teamwork and independent work ability.
• Good judgment, discretion and ethical behavior.
• Excellent communication, listening and writing skills.
• Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Comfort with technology including Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Engage with students, staff and community to promote safety and security on CVTC campuses.
• Support college-wide security efforts and respond to incidents.
• Travel to Eau Claire and regional campuses as needed.
• Provide training to student public safety officers and supervise schedules.
• Develop and deliver public safety training and incident reports.
• Coordinate with Emergency Response Team for events and drills.
• Maintain a professional security presence and enforce parking/regulations.
• Investigate disturbances and hazards and report findings in writing.
