Job summary

Saginaw Public Schools is seeking a Security/Campus Patrol Officer for the school year to provide a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff. Experience in de-escalation and conflict management is preferred.

The officer will patrol buildings and grounds, assist with investigations of violations, report incidents, cooperate with authorities, and help maintain orderly campuses during after-school hours. Flexibility and reliable attendance are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school policies and safety procedures.
• Awareness of potential fire hazards and security risks.
• Ability to investigate and report incidents.
• Skilled in de-escalation and conflict management.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work with diverse student and staff populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist administration with on-site investigations of violations of school regulations or laws.
• Enforce school rules and manage crowds and individuals.
• Prepare written reports of security incidents.
• Cooperate with local, state or federal authorities as needed.
• Serve as liaison with probation officers and other officials.
