Position Overview

The primary role of the Campus Safety Officer is to ensure the security and safety of all faculty, staff, students, and visitors within the assigned campus area. Responsibilities include safeguarding property, providing escort services, conducting routine patrols, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a secure campus environment.

Responsibilities

1. Patrol designated areas on foot or in vehicles to ensure security.
2. Inspect doors, windows, and gates for security breaches.
3. Monitor for unauthorized persons or suspicious activities.
4. Provide escort services and public assistance as needed.
5. Report irregularities, security breaches, and hazards.
6. Respond to emergency situations and contact responders.
7. Investigate incidents and prepare reports.
8. Serve as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act.
9. Assist law enforcement agencies when necessary.
