Job summary

Phillips Academy Andover seeks a full-time Campus Safety Officer to protect the campus community and property. The role requires patrolling the 550-acre campus by vehicle, bicycle, or on foot, checking doors, and documenting findings for security purposes.

Hours are 40 per week with a Thursday through Monday schedule, 3pm-11pm, including holidays and weekends. This position emphasizes safety, service, and acting as an ambassador for the academy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must successfully complete CPR/AED training.
• Must successfully complete Campus Safety Field Training.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Experience in an institutional or campus setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrols 550-acre campus by vehicle, bike or on foot.
• Check exterior and interior doors for locked/unlocked status or evidence of entry.
• Document activity in dispatcher or shift log.
• Attend to duties as assigned by supervisor or director of campus safety.

Job description

Phillips Academy Andover seeks candidates for a full time Campus Safety Officer.

Campus Safety Officers provide safety services that assist the campus community in maintaining order, enhance the personal safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and ensure the security of Academy property.

This position is full-time, 12 months per year, 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Thursday through Monday, 3pm-11pm. Hours are assigned to maintain 24/7 coverage, including holidays, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Campus Safety Officer patrols entirety of 550 acre campus while driving a motor vehicle, riding a mountain bicycle, or walking. Patrolling duties include, but are not limited to, checking exterior and selected interior doors of all administrative buildings and student dorms for locked/unlocked condition or for evidence of unauthorized entry and documenting activity and findings either with the dispatcher or an entry in the event shift log.

Attends to all duties as assigned by a Supervisor, Operations Manager or Director of Campus Safety.

Conducts themselves as a resource for the campus community, a uniformed deterrent to crime and at the same time an ambassador of Phillips Academy.

Essential Personnel may be required to report to or remain at work if instructed to do so, if contacted directly by a supervisor (or his/her designee).

Salary: $20.50 per hour plus shift differential of $3 per hour for 3pm-11pm and $5 per hour for 11pm-7am.
