Job summary

Salem Academy and College is seeking a part-time Public Safety Officer to patrol the campus, respond to service requests, and monitor facilities. The role reports to the Director of Public Safety and requires collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to enforce safety policies.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be 21+, have a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license.
• Prior security-related work preferred.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and administration.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service and monitor campus activity.
• patrol areas and provide a visible presence across the campus.
• Open/close facilities and handle access control requests.
• Respond to emergency calls and follow established procedures.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain communication with staff and supervisors.
• Operate security systems and assist with safety inspections.
