Job summary

Salem Academy and College seeks a Part-Time Public Safety Officer to join the campus security team. You will report to the Director of Public Safety and handle patrols, service requests, opening/closing of facilities, and responses to emergencies.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. HS diploma and driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service on campus.
• Communicate policies and procedures to faculty, staff, students, and public safety personnel.
• Answer and monitor telephone and radio systems.
• Respond to emergencies and assignments directed by supervisors.
• Provide constant foot patrol of the campus.
• Operate and utilize issued security equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to maintain safety.
