Job summary

Qualifications

• Clear criminal background check required.
• Valid NC driver’s license required.
• Neat and professional appearance required.
• Ability to tactfully enforce rules and regulations by using independent judgment within established guidelines.
• Ability to regularly work rotating evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Associates degree in Criminal justice or related field preferred.
• Prior law enforcement or security training preferred.
• CPR, First-Aid, AED Training/Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service through proactive interaction with staff, students, guests, and visitors.
• Patrol campus property on foot and by vehicle to identify hazardous conditions and reduce hazards.
• Respond to calls for service promptly and monitor police/fire radio channels and emergency lines.
• Provide basic first aid and alert additional police or emergency personnel as needed.
• Lock and unlock buildings at specified times.
• Provide crowd control at special events as required.
• Prepare written reports, collect evidence, and gather statements of incidents or violations.
• Perform traffic control duties including issuing parking citations and motorist assistance.
• Other duties as assigned.
