Job summary

Lees-McRae College in North Carolina seeks a full-time Security Officer to maintain a safe campus for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves proactive patrols, responding to calls, basic first aid, and enforcing campus rules with professional conduct.

You will work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends, process incident reports, and assist with crowd control during events. A high school diploma or GED and a valid NC driver’s license are required; CPR/First Aid/AED

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clear criminal background check required.
• Valid NC driver’s license required.
• Neat and professional appearance required.
• Ability to tactfully enforce rules and regulations with independent judgment.
• Ability to rotate evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service through proactive interaction with staff, students, guests and visitors.
• Patrol campus property on foot and by vehicle to identify hazards and reduce risks.
• Respond to calls for service and monitor police/fire radio channels and emergency lines.
• Provide basic first aid and alert appropriate emergency personnel when needed.
• Lock/unlock buildings at designated times.
• Assist with crowd control at events as required.
• Prepare incident reports, collect evidence and gather statements.
• Manage traffic control and issue parking citations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct; maintain stress management and teamwork.
• Maintain thoroughness in all tasks.
