Job summary

North Carolina Community College System is seeking a full-time security officer to maintain safety of College campuses, enforce statutes and college rules, and respond to incidents. The role requires two years of law enforcement experience, a NC BLET, and a valid driver’s license with a clean history.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of law enforcement experience required.
• Associate degree or higher from regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of North Carolina BLET required.
• North Carolina Certified Law Enforcement Officer certification required.
• Clean criminal history and valid driver's license with no DUI.
• Fingerprinting required upon hire.
• Physical duties include lifting up to 30 pounds and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor campus for suspicious activity and safeguard property.
• Direct traffic and manage parking at events and peak times.
• Investigate incidents and respond to security emergencies.
• Prepare incident/accident reports for staff, students, and public.
• Provide security for college-sponsored events and support in emergencies.
