Job summary

Sussex County Community College in Newton, NJ is seeking a part-time Campus Dispatcher. The dispatcher monitors security communications, coordinates responses to emergencies, dispatches security personnel, and maintains logs of calls for service.

This role reports to the Director of Campus Safety & Security and requires the ability to work varied shifts. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, prior dispatch or public safety experience, strong verbal and written communication,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior dispatch, security, public safety or related experience preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and communicate clearly.
• Proficiency with dispatch-related software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate, and prioritize incoming calls for security assistance and emergencies.
• Dispatch campus security personnel using two-way radio and other systems.
• Monitor cameras, alarm systems, and access control, reporting irregularities.
• Maintain logs, reports, and records of incidents and activities.
• Coordinate responses with local law enforcement and emergency services.
