Job summary

SUNY Erie Community College is seeking a part‑time College Safety & Security dispatcher to operate radiotelephone and video equipment, log incidents, and coordinate with campus units. You will relay information for emergency and non‑emergency responses, ensuring accurate records and timely dispatch across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of multi‑unit dispatching experience.
• Possession of a valid New York State Driver’s License.
• Ability to operate two‑way radio and telephone communications systems.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of incidents and officer assignments.
• Ability to work with diverse campus communities.

Responsibilities

• Operates communications equipment in dispatching and directing units.
• Monitors calls to provide timely response with available personnel and equipment.
• Receives calls from students, faculty, staff and the public and directs to proper personnel.
• Maintains records of security activities and client information.
• May drive a department vehicle to maintain coverage at campuses or during emergencies.
