Job summary

Williams College in Williamstown, MA is seeking two Campus Safety Services Officers to patrol campus grounds, respond to emergencies, and support a safe, inclusive community for students, faculty, and staff.

The roles require a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, physical endurance, and strong communication. Shifts include overnight blocks with premium pay during holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physical duties and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrol campus grounds and facilities to maintain visibility and safety.
• Assess and respond to routine calls and emergencies as first responder.
• De-escalate conflicts with empathetic, trauma-informed communication.
• Encourage compliance with college policies through engagement and education.
• Document incidents using CAD and reporting tools; assist central dispatch as needed.
• Participate in training and onboarding of new personnel.
