Job summary

Williams College is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to protect students, faculty, and staff. You will patrol grounds, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a safe, inclusive campus environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physical demands and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment in emergencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; adapt to new technology.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrol campus grounds and facilities, maintaining high visibility and building trust with a diverse community.
• Assess and manage emergencies, acting as a calm, first responder.
• Use empathetic, trauma-informed communication to resolve conflicts and assist students in distress.
• Encourage adherence to college policies through engagement and education.
• Conduct incident inquiries and prepare logs using CAD and reporting tools.
• Support dispatch operations and participate in training and onboarding of new staff.
