Ursinus College is seeking full-time Campus Safety Officers to patrol the 170-acre campus, including nights, weekends and holidays. CSOs are non-sworn, unarmed staff responsible for high-visibility patrols, responding to emergencies, and assisting the college community.

The role requires excellent customer service, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED and good work history required.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and at least one year driving experience.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle at night and in poor weather conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills are required.
• Must be capable of passing a background investigation including criminal records check.
• Understanding of higher education setting and ability to work with persons of diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Aufgaben

• Safeguard life and property through high visibility patrols on the campus.
• Respond to non-emergency and emergency situations, including alarms, lockouts, medical and mental health crises, and crimes in progress and summon police, fire, and EMS when required.
• Conduct initial investigations, collect witness statements, photograph scenes, and prepare and submit incident reports.
• Regulate campus vehicular and pedestrian traffic to enhance safety and enforce parking regulations.
• Identify, report, and resolve hazardous conditions; inspect buildings and properties for maintenance and order.
• Secure and unlock campus buildings according to schedules and procedures.
• Administer First Aid and CPR when necessary.
• Provide escorts and shuttle transportation to campus community members as assigned.
• Monitor surveillance system and perform dispatcher duties as part of normal duties.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• This position is a Campus Security Authority as designated under the Jeanne Clery Act of 1990.
