Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) seeks a Police Officer to enforce laws and campus rules across the college community. You will provide service, respond to incidents, and contribute to safety for students, staff, and visitors.

The role requires a current TCOLE Peace Officer license, completion of field training, and the ability to work weekends/holidays. Pay starts at $27.67–$30.43 per hour, with final offers based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Must have current permanent Peace Officer License from TCOLE.
• Successful completion of field training program.
• Experience not required with basic certification; experience considered in hiring decisions.

Responsibilities

• Community Policing and Engagement: engage with students, staff, and visitors to support safety initiatives.
• Patrol and Enforcement: monitor campus areas, enforce laws, and address safety concerns.
• Investigations and Incident Response: investigate crimes, secure scenes, and prepare reports.
• Emergency and Safety Support: respond to calls, maintain visible presence, exercise good judgment.
• Reporting and Compliance: document actions and incidents accurately and follow policies.
• Professional Standards and Readiness: maintain equipment and stay current with trainings (TCOLE, Clery Act, etc.).
