Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking a Police Officer to join its campus security team. The role enforces federal, state, and local laws as well as campus rules, while providing essential service and protection for students, staff, visitors and college property within campus jurisdiction.

The officer will serve as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act, engaging with campus groups and promoting safety through visibility and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current permanent Peace Officer License from TCOLE.
• Successful completion of a field training program.
• Basic certification preferred; experience considered in hiring decisions.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus and surrounding areas to identify safety concerns.
• Enforce laws/regulations and take appropriate enforcement actions.
• Investigate crimes, secure scenes, collect evidence, and file reports.
• Respond to calls for service, provide medical aid, and support emergencies.
• Document actions and maintain compliance with policies and laws.
