Job summary

University of Maine at Farmington seeks a Retail Services Supervisor to oversee the University Store, Mailroom, and campus Card Services. This role combines hands-on leadership with responsibilities for daily operations, scheduling, training, and managing student staff.

The successful candidate will supervise retail activities, textbook ordering/returns, inventory, online orders, and financial records while delivering exceptional customer service. This is an auxiliary, on-site position at UMF.

Qualifications

• Six months of specialized training or education beyond high school.
• Three years of retail experience.
• One year of supervisory or lead-level experience.
• Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in customer service, supervision, scheduling, merchandising, retail operations, and related financial practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee retail activities, textbook ordering and returns, inventory and merchandise displays, and online orders.
• Maintain financial records and transactions for the unit.
• Coordinate special events and sales and ensure customer-focused service.
• Lead and train student staff, schedule shifts, and manage day-to-day operations.
