Job summary

USC Department of Public Safety is hiring a Public Safety Dispatcher to support the university's Communications Center across multiple campuses. You will receive calls from faculty, staff, students, and guests and dispatch appropriate Public Safety units via radio and CAD systems.

The ideal candidate has strong verbal and written communication, remains calm under pressure, and can make quick decisions with limited information. Some shifts include holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6–12 months of related experience preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license for 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and nonemergency calls and dispatch responders.
• Operate radio communications and CAD system in fast‑paced environment.
• Maintain records of calls, statuses, and unit responses.
• Coordinate with LAPD, LAFD and other agencies as needed.
