Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of experience, including two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • California POST Advanced Certificate.
  • Licensed to carry firearms.
  • Complete California POST Supervisory course within one year of hire.
  • POST certification requirements (psychological and medical examinations, background investigation, etc.).
  • Equity-minded focus and inclusive approach toward diverse students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Administering the college traffic and patrol program.
  • Directing the preparation of citations against violators to the municipal courts.
  • Approving schedules and assignments to maintain full operational patrol schedules.
  • Serving as the incident commander at emergencies involving Los Rios Community College District jurisdiction.
  • Overseeing the campus patrol program.
  • Overseeing special programs and/or projects for the district (e.g., Clery Act).
  • Training, supervising, and evaluating college police personnel.
  • Performing investigations and filing reports; ensuring safety and security of facilities.
  • Maintaining records and keeping college police manuals up to date.
