Job summary

University of Central Florida is seeking a Plumber I to provide essential plumbing support in maintenance, installation, and repair across campus facilities. You will troubleshoot requests to keep bathrooms, laboratories, and kitchens safe and functional.

The role requires an approved plumbing apprenticeship or equivalent experience, with strong knowledge of plumbing trades. A valid driver’s license and ability to work from a shared facilities team are expected.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved plumbing apprenticeship or a high school diploma with two years of plumbing-related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing trades, tools, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Experience reading blueprints and using electrical meters is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance to identify or prevent plumbing failures.
  • Carry out repairs to restore functionality and maintain plumbing systems in campus facilities.
  • Install, test, calibrate, and maintain plumbing components connected with water, gas, air, and sewer systems.
  • Operate and monitor equipment such as pumps, valves, traps, and water heaters.
  • Complete work orders with accurate labor hours, codes, and notes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, sanitation, and university policies.
