Job summary

University of Central Florida’s Facilities Maintenance Department is seeking a Plumber I to support campus sanitation, maintenance, and installation work on main campus. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems to ensure a safe, clean, and functional learning environment.

Key duties include preventive and predictive maintenance, responding to requests, and coordinating with central shops and contractors.

Qualifications

• Completion of plumbing apprenticeship or a high school diploma with two years of related experience.
• Familiarity with plumbing systems, sanitation, and repairs.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and read basic blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PDM) on plumbing systems.
• Carry out corrective repairs to restore functionality and safety.
• Install, test, and calibrate plumbing components including water, gas, air, and sewer systems.
• Maintain equipment such as pumps, valves, faucets, and water heaters.
• Complete work orders with accurate labor hours and notes.
