Job summary

Auburn University Outreach is seeking a creative, motivated undergraduate student to serve as a Student Outreach Community Writer. This position supports the division's communications and marketing efforts by researching, writing and promoting stories that highlight Auburn University's outreach initiatives across Alabama and beyond.

Qualifications

• Enrolled student at Auburn University.
• Great written communication skills.
• Experience with social media.

Responsibilities

• Research, interview and gather information for stories.
• Write engaging content communicating Auburn Outreach's mission and impact.
• Draft and edit copy for communications.
• Proofread content for grammar, spelling, accuracy, consistency and Auburn AP style.
• Assist with the creation of social media content and promotional messaging.
• Attend Outreach events to gather information, conduct interviews and develop content.
• Collaborate with Outreach staff, faculty, students and community partners to identify stories and spotlight opportunities.
• Contribute creative ideas to support communications campaigns and storytelling efforts.
• Meet assigned deadlines and manage multiple writing projects simultaneously.
