Job summary

California State University, San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus (PDC) is seeking an Orientation Leader to welcome and guide new students through their transition to campus life. You will serve as a peer educator and role model, conduct campus tours, and support orientation activities.

The role requires leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to student success, with duties including mentorship, information on campus resources, and collaboration with the orientation team.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
• Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for incoming freshmen and transfer students, providing a warm and professional welcome.
• Lead guided campus tours and share information about facilities, resources, and services.
• Support orientation programs, including group activities and informational sessions.
• Act as a mentor, sharing insights into student life and CSUSB Palm Desert Campus life.
• Educate new students on campus resources and help navigate services.
• Collaborate with the Orientation Team and attend training sessions.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown for orientation events.
• Provide ongoing support to new students during their transition to university life.
