Job summary

California State University, San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus (PDC) is seeking an Orientation Leader to welcome new students and guide their transition to campus life under supervision.

As a Peer Educator and role model, you will lead campus tours, assist with orientation activities, and support students in navigating academic and student services, while upholding professionalism and engagement.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted or registered as a CSU student.
• Maintain a 2.0 GPA or greater per semester and cumulatively.
• Enrolled at least halftime (6 units undergrad; 3 units grad).
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Payroll requirement: Social Security Card.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for incoming freshmen and transfer students, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
• Lead campus tours and share information about facilities, resources, and services.
• Assist with orientation activities, group icebreakers, and informational sessions.
• Act as a peer mentor and role model, demonstrating professionalism and positive attitude.
• Educate new students on campus resources and support services; help navigate university life.
• Work outdoors in extreme heat, adhering to heat safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the Orientation Team and attend mandatory trainings.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of orientation events.
