Job summary

The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, NJ seeks an Operations Officer to support a safe, efficient campus. In this full-time role, you greet visitors, manage access, and coordinate daily operations with Facilities, Athletics, and Auxiliary Programs.

This 12-month, Tue-Sat shift (7:30am–4:00pm) emphasizes service-first security, event support, mail/logistics, and emergency readiness with a strong DEIB focus and customer-service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a school, hospitality, operations, or highly visible front-facing environment is strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational, oral, and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain via school-provided training).
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, move around a multi-building campus, and lift up to 50 lbs. per safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Campus Ambassadorship & Reception: greet visitors, manage inquiries, and screen check-ins to maintain access control.
• Safety & Surveillance: conduct security rounds and monitor Milestone XProtect systems.
• Operational & Logistics: handle mail, packages, and coordinate general campus logistics.
• Event Coordination & Traffic Flow: support event setup/breakdown and manage parking/traffic during peak periods.
• Emergency Readiness: support emergency drills and know Pingry’s protocols.
• Honor Code Stewardship: model integrity and respect in daily interactions.
