Operations Officers are a vital part of our campus life, supporting a safe, secure, and highly efficient learning environment. In this full-time role, you serve as a highly visible, personable professional ambassador and a logistical “utility player”. You balance front-of-house hospitality, greeting visitors with warmth and managing building access, with behind-the-scenes operational and safety coordination. Reporting directly to the Reception and Operations Supervisor - Basking Ridge, you ensure consistent coverage, a professional desk presence, and strict alignment with campus protocols. You will work collaboratively with Facilities, Athletics, and Auxiliary programs to seamlessly execute daily campus activities, school events, and afternoon/evening transitions.
This is a 12-month, full-time position, primarily based at Pingry’s Basking Ridge campus. This role is scheduled to work Tuesday through Saturday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. Depending on the school calendar and operational requirements, duties and schedules may occasionally change, however candidates with availability Tuesdays through Saturdays are strongly preferred. We are seeking a proactive, composed, and customer-service-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This role is perfect for someone who balances a “security-first” mindset with a “service-first” approach.
Serve as a front-facing representative; greet visitors, manage phone and email inquiries, and execute visitor screening and check-ins via school systems (SchoolPass, Ruvna) to maintain strict access control.
Conduct routine security rounds to assess risks, monitor campus surveillance systems (Milestone XProtect), look for irregular activity, and maintain a vigilant, approachable security presence.
Partner with the Supervisor to manage incoming mail, sort package deliveries, update campus athletic/event calendars, and assist with general logistics or vendor coordination.
Collaborate cross-departmentally with Athletics, Facilities, and Auxiliary Programs to support seamless event setups, breakdowns, and safe vehicle parking/traffic flow during peak periods.
Maintain an expert working knowledge of Pingry’s emergency response protocols and communication platforms, confidently supporting monthly safety drills and critical incidents.
Model the school’s core values of integrity and respect in every daily interaction with students, faculty, and the public.
The salary range for this position is $22-$28/hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and education.
