Job summary

The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, NJ is seeking a Groundskeeper to join the Facilities and Grounds team. This 12-month, full-time hourly role supports 35 Upper School varsity teams, Middle School programs, summer programs, rentals, and community events, maintaining athletic fields, lawns, and outdoor spaces.

You will operate mowers, tractors, and other equipment, follow safety protocols, and work flexible hours including evenings or weekends for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather.
• Experience with landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Strong teamwork and dependability essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain athletic fields, lawns, and grounds.
• Perform landscaping, planting, pruning, and mowing.
• Ensure campus safety and cleanliness of walkways and common areas.
• Operate grounds equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Assist with winter snow removal and weather-related prep.
• Support events and outdoor activities with setup and breakdown.
