Job summary

Lamar State College Port Arthur is seeking a Student Worker to provide general office support and assist departments with related duties. The hours are capped at 20 per week and the position is non-exempt.

The role involves data entry, document handling, and assisting with events as needed. Qualified applicants are LSCPA students enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per long semester (or three in Summer) with a 2.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Minimum LSCPA student with at least 6 credit hours in a long semester or 3 in summer.
• GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Valid driver's license/state ID.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and other computer applications.
• Ability to operate office equipment (computer, calculator, copier, fax).

Responsibilities

• Filing, making copies, faxing, shredding and scanning.
• Data entry.
• Document creation/maintenance using Word and Excel.
• Assist with department or student events.
• Greet and assist office guests and campus visitors.
• Answer phone, receive and sort mail.
• Comply with campus policies and procedures.
• Other related duties as assigned.
