Job summary

Epic is hiring a network engineer to install, configure, and support our campus and cloud networks. You will evaluate technology and influence changes in Epic's internal infrastructure. Our environment uses Cisco and other vendors, with modern switching, routing, firewall config, and WAN design.

With a focus on infrastructure as code, you’ll leverage Terraform and Ansible in a small, collaborative team, helping Epic serve major national healthcare organizations with reliable connectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a history of academic success.
• Experience or interest in switches, routers, access points, and UPSes.
• Proficiency with Cisco hardware; CCNA/CCNP is helpful.
• Willingness to relocate to Madison, WI area (reimbursed).
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• COVID-19 vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support campus and cloud networks.
• Evaluate technology and influence changes in Epic's internal infrastructure.
• Investigate and implement modern switching and routing platforms.
• Configure firewall rules and design/triage WAN connectivity.
• Lead infrastructure-as-code initiatives using Terraform and Ansible.
• Work in a small, collaborative team to keep Epic's network up and running.
