Job summary

The Gustavus Adolphus College Counseling Center is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality services to students, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and campus outreach. Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in a counseling-related field.
• Fully licensed or will be fully licensed in Minnesota within one year.
• Clinical experience in psychology/mental health counseling and crisis intervention.
• Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality and multicultural competency.
• Experience providing culturally-proficient clinical services to diverse populations and willingness for ongoing growth.

Responsibilities

• Meet individually with students for short-term therapy within a stepped care model.
• Conduct therapy/psycho-educational groups and support groups.
• Consult with faculty, staff and off-campus providers on student concerns.
• Assist with student orientations, classroom presentations, and training as appropriate.
• Collaborate with multiple campus departments on wellness initiatives.
• Refer students to off-campus services and follow up as needed.
• Respond to crisis situations and coordinate with campus resources.
• Participate in after-hours events in support of student wellness.
• Engage in collaborative office practices and annual retreats.
