Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a licensed clinician for its counseling center to conduct intakes, provide evidence-based therapy, and coordinate care with campus and community resources. The role supports students with mental health services and group interventions.

The incumbent will develop short-term treatment plans, document in EMR, and participate in professional development and multidisciplinary teams to meet ongoing student needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited school of professional counseling or related field is required.
• Active, unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LMFT, LCP, or CADC with concurrent independent licensure accepted.

Responsibilities

• Completes intakes and bio-psycho-social assessments with students.
• Provides evidence-based clinical mental health therapy with consideration of cultural, developmental, and trauma-informed needs.
• Develops short-term treatment plans and updates them regularly to assess ongoing need.
• Provides students with case management and coordination of care with campus resources and community partners.
• Facilitates skills workshops and therapeutic process groups for the student community.
• Completes clinical documentation in the EMR within practice and College policies.
• Assists with campus/community outreach to promote counseling resources and services.
• Engages in cross-collaborative clinical case conferences weekly.
• Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain licensure and improve practice.
• Assists with MHEACA grant reporting data collection.
• Performs other duties as needed.
