Job summary

University of St. Thomas seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Management team on campus in Saint Paul, MN. You’ll maintain and repair boilers, chillers, air handlers, and related systems, supporting campus comfort, safety, and sustainability.

Roles range from Engineer II to Engineer III with on‑call expectations. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, water treatment testing, and EMS operation; licensed candidates with C boiler and EPA Refrigeration

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota driver's license.
• Be a member of a bargaining unit (Local 70).
• Basic computer skills (email, MS Office, spreadsheets).
• Mechanical Maintenance Engineer III– requires 2-year technical degree and 5+ years experience; boiler licenses and certifications listed in qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, repair boilers, chillers, and related systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and water treatment testing.
• Operate EMS for temperature control of mechanical systems.
• Repair and maintain air handling units, pumps, and plumbing systems.
• Support swimming pool equipment and water treatment.
• On-call rotation as per seniority and site needs.
