Job summary

Hamline University is seeking a Facilities Technician to operate and maintain the Central Plant’s high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and related equipment. The role includes monitoring building systems, running preventative maintenance, and responding to emergencies to ensure campus operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities include testing water treatment, operating the building automation system, coordinating with contractors, and supporting other Facilities Services personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years experience operating and maintaining a high-pressure steam boiler.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate boilers and chillers safely and efficiently.
• Test water treatment daily and take corrective actions.
• Operate building automation system and adjust based on conditions.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Central Plant equipment.
• Respond to emergencies promptly and document actions.
• Assist contractors and facilities staff with projects.
