Job summary

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) seeks a part-time Marketing & Events Coordinator to assist the Office for Student Involvement & Leadership (OSIL) in planning and promoting signature campus events and the department's marketing plan.

You will help manage social media content, events logistics, and collaboration with student organizations to showcase Highlander pride and campus involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in Bachelor's or Master's program in Marketing, Communications, Higher Education, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support campus events.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and social media best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of OSIL's Signature Programs (Homecoming, Involvement Fair, NJIT LEADS Conference, Highlander Awards, Greek Week, Spring Concert).
• Support the day-to-day operations of OSIL's student office assistants.
• Manage processes related to Recognized Student Organizations' programs.
• Create engaging social media content to promote campus events and involvement opportunities for students.
• Capture photos and videos at campus events to highlight student experiences and showcase NJIT.
• Brainstorm and contribute content ideas, including trending formats, to increase student engagement.
• Build relationships with student clubs and organizations to promote their events and initiatives.
• Maintain a social media content calendar for consistent posts.
• Collaborate with the OSIL team on marketing campaigns and campus-wide initiatives.
• Serve as a positive ambassador for NJIT by creating authentic, student-centered content.
