Job summary

Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Worker for St. Raymond De Penafort in Mt. Prospect. The role involves daily facility walkthroughs, safety and housekeeping checks, and coordinating with contractors across campus.

The position requires basic maintenance skills, the ability to read and follow instructions, and a high school diploma or GED. An hourly wage range of $18.00–$22.00 is offered with opportunities to manage maintenance schedules and respond to events.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English.
• Manual dexterity and coordination sufficient to handle various tools and equipment.
• Prior experience in the maintenance field.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily walkthroughs to identify safety concerns and maintenance issues, and maintains a checklist of building systems (HVAC, alarms).
• Performs exterior daily checks for debris and hazards and reports needs for attention.
• Maintains maintenance schedules for contract items (elevator, fire/alarm, HVAC, life safety).
• Assists with the work order system and communicates completion to requestors.
• Meets with outside contractors and informs the Director of Operations and Maintenance Supervisor of status.
• Performs simple repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boiler checks) and logs repairs.
