Qualifications
License and Certification
- Valid Georgia Driver's License required.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Category 24 Pesticide Applicator License, and Level 1-A Erosion Control Certification required within 180 days.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Building technical training preferred.
Experience
- Two years of experience in building site maintenance, construction, carpentry, or related fields required.
- Experience with small equipment operations such as tractors, bobcats, and excavators preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of exterior building and handicap codes, procedures, materials, tools, hazards, and safety protocols.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow technical instructions and diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair exterior site structures in accordance with building and handicap codes, including asphalt paving, curbing, sidewalks, signs, parking lot striping, and storm drainage.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as cutting, welding, fabricating, installing, and repairing fences, gates, handrails, and guardrails.
- Install and repair hardware and equipment following code standards.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and document repairs and parts used.
- Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and supplies, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance requests and work orders using Maximo and departmental devices.
- Supervise and review work of contractors and temporary staff for compliance.
- Respond promptly to urgent situations, available for 24/7 call-out.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, reaching, talking, hearing, manipulating tools, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Operate motor vehicles and work in various environmental conditions.
