Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Knowledge of basic methods, materials, and practices in traditional building and mechanical trades.
• Familiarity with common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to follow technical directions, verbal instructions, and written work orders.
• Ability to learn across maintenance disciplines and apply skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled maintenance personnel with repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Receive hands-on training and develop skills in: Electrical systems and lighting repairs; HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting; Plumbing repairs and installations; Painting and surface preparation; Concrete repair and finishing; Custodial and facility cleaning; Welding and metal fabrication tasks.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform routine inspections of facilities and report maintenance concerns.
• Assist with moving materials, equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow work orders, maintenance schedules, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Comply with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Respond to facility maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
