Job summary

The University of Rochester in Rochester, NY is seeking a full-time Mail-Fac & Services worker to handle daily pickup and delivery duties across campus. You will load and unload materials, supervise shipments, and ensure accurate time records and safe handling of fragile cargo.

Responsibilities include route familiarity, minor vehicle maintenance, mail sorting, and assisting in receiving rooms as needed. A NYS driver’s license and ability to lift up to 70 pounds are required; this role offers

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English and to understand and follow maps, diagrams, oral and written instructions.
• Must possess a valid New York State license with appropriate class based on gross vehicle weight ratings.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds

Responsibilities

• Knows locations of buildings, departments and loading entrances in order to make specific pick-up and deliveries.
• Loads and unloads materials, furniture, supplies, equipment, etc. with assistance as needed
• Makes special runs as directed.
• Keeps daily record of all trips and time involved. Knowledgeable of and implements special handling procedures of fragile cargo. May keep record of all portable equipment by location.
• Advises supervisor of need for preventive maintenance, inspection or repair of vehicles.
• May make minor repairs.
• Refuels vehicle, checks fluids and keeps vehicle clean and neat at all times.
• May assist in receiving room when needed.
• Sorts and delivers mail as required.
