Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City is seeking a Logistics Specialist in Facilities to manage mail and package receiving, sorting, and delivery across the campus. You will use an automated tracking system and verify recipients, ensuring accurate distributions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and about one year of office or mailroom experience. The position offers hourly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 1 year of office experience or experience in receiving, inspecting, sorting packages and mail.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and sort USPS and interoffice mail for the KUMC campus.
• Receive, inspect and sort packages and parcels received via carriers (UPS, FedEx, Fisher, etc.).
• Verify recipients and research discrepancies to ensure accuracy of deliveries.
• Document any damage identified with mail and/or packages on receipt.
• Utilize automated package tracking system to log and record packages and ensure accurate delivery.
• Create delivery route using package tracking system.
• Deliver mail, packages, and parcels using established routes with required signatures.
• Collect outgoing mail and packages via established routes and process with postage metering systems.
• Sort and prepare outgoing mail and/or packages and apply appropriate department charge-back numbers.
• Provide assistance to customers at the service window and with USPS/FedEx forms.
• Resolve minor customer complaints or issues and assist with Central Logistics Services duties.
