Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent problem-solving, conflict management, crisis management, team building, and communication skills required.
• Experience building positive and effective relationships with colleagues and students across a diverse college population preferred.
• Experience planning educational and recreational activities.
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Ability to relate to and supervise young people, residential program experience preferred.
• Computer literacy: Excel, Word, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of one of the Ottumwa Main Campus housing facilities as selected by the Director of Student Life.
• Develop expertise in and enforce College and departmental policies and procedures including student conduct code and gender-based misconduct.
• Be first resource for resident students for crisis/conflict management and refer students to appropriate resources.
• Coordinate housing processes with the Director of Student Life and welcome students and families to campus.
• Represent Indian Hills Community College at activities and events.
• Aid in facility maintenance and equipment inventory and manage housing software.
• Maintain regular attendance and participate in departmental and institutional meetings.
• Assist with campus-wide activities and events for Student Life and Centerville campus housing staff.
• Oversee IHCC vendor events for IHCC students including Centerville campus.
• Hold office hours and support Student Life staff activities and recognition efforts.
• Work with Residence Hall Supervisors and Resident Assistants on programming and education.
• Track Student Life participation, assess learning outcomes, and support retention efforts.
• Advise IHCC Student Senate with Senior Hall Supervisor and Director of Student Life.
• Assist in maintaining the Student Development Event calendar and Student Life Social Media accounts.
• Other duties may be assigned.
